Escape from your isolation for a while, and join us for the Cambodian part of our journey up the Mekong! Whilst dramatic events were engulfing Europe, Scotman and I were blissfully floating up the Mekong. Reality only hit when we disembarked from the boat in Cambodia, and learnt that we’d been on the last boat up the Mekong – all future cruises had been cancelled.
This week I show you the royal palace at Phnom Penh, the ancient ruins of Wat Nokor Bachey, and an island where we learn about silk production, all the way from the mating of the moth to the final fabric! The holiday was so epic that I’ve had to spilt it into three vlogs. Last week I showed you Vietnam, this week I’ll show you the wonders of Cambodia, and next week will be the spectacular temples of Angkor Wat and Ta Prohm. Escape with us, on ‘The Last Boat up the Mekong’.
I feel incredibly lucky that my brother Gerald and I were able to enjoy that time together before facing our respective lockdowns – he’s now in England and I’m back in France with my mother ❤️🏰❤️
A very special thank you to all of you who have become Patrons of the Chateau de Lalande. As you can imagine, your help means more to me now than ever. Because of you, I’ll be able to keep living at Lalande and making videos even though our chambres d’hotes income has been decimated by the coronavirus. I’ve been overwhelmed by your kindness and generosity, On behalf of this beautiful chateau that will continue to survive and flourish because of you, thank you!!!
